This smoothie flavor combo is killer (if I do say so myself).
This maple fig tahini smoothie will get you in the fall mood, plus it’s packed with protein, veggies and healthy fats! I think is slurped it down in less then a minute.
Last week I was in Vermont and bough a huge bottle of classic Vermont maple syrup from a farm stand. It’s crazy how much more rich it is than the stuff you buy at supermarket. So just a teaspoon of this rich syrup is more than enough for this smoothie.
Another key element are the figs. I used dried figs because they’re going out of season in New England. You can also use frozen figs or fresh figs (if they’re in season where ever you are).
Since I’m already getting a ton of sweetness from the syrup and figs, I like to add frozen cauliflower to my smoothies for extra thickness without a ton of added sugar. You can hardly even taste it once blended!
I love adding collagen peptides to all of my smoothies because it doesn’t alter the taste at all while providing a great source of protein. It’s also fantastic for the strength of your hair skin and nails.
