Last week I went apple picking and have so much leftover cider, so I cooked it right into my oats with some cinnamon. It was the perfect warm fall breakfast, and is officially my go-to for the season. Plus, cooking with apple cider makes your kitchen smell SO GOOD!
Apple Cider Granola Porridge
Servings: 1 serving
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup apple cider
- 3 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1 apple - diced
- 1/4 cup granola - i used a store bought maple pecan granola
- 1/4 tsp chia seeds
- 1/4 tsp flax seeds
- 1/2 tsp maple syrup
Instructions
- Combine the oats and apple cider so that the oats are completely wet. Add them to a small pot over medium heat and stir. Add half of the cinnamon & stir until fully cooked. Transfer it to a bowl.
- In another pan, heat the coconut oil over medium heat & add the apples with the rest of the cinnamon. Cook until the apples are golden (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and arrange them on top of the oats. To finish off the bowl add granola, chia seeds, flax seeds, maple syrup and more cinnamon! Enjoy!
