Make your own almond milk! It tastes better, it’s cheaper & it’s so easy to make. I kept this batch plain, but I have also added in cocoa powder & dates for a chocolate milk, or vanilla bean and coconut sugar for vanilla milk.
For cheaper almonds, make sure you buy them in bulk!
Homemade Almond Milk
Servings: 5 cups
Ingredients
- 1 cup raw almonds
- 5 cups filtered water
- 1 tsp vanilla
- pinch salt
Instructions
- Add everything to a high speed blender (I use the Vitamix Professional Series 750) & blend for 3 minutes.
- Pour the mixture into a large bowl covered with a cheese cloth (or a super thin dish towel) to drain the excess pulp. Squeeze the milk out through the cheese cloth. Refrigerate and consume within 10 days.
